Pray Without Ceasing
Here are some ideas about how to go about it.

Pray as Jesus Taught Us
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory,
forever and ever.
Amen.

Prayer for Times of Anguish
Lord Christ,
you came into the world as one of us,
and suffered as we do.
As we go through the trials of life,
help us to realize that you are with us
at all times and in all things;
that we have no secrets from you;
and that your loving grace enfolds us for eternity.
In the security of your embrace we pray.
Amen.

More Prayers for Times of Crisis

Prayer for the Christ the King
We give you thanks for the gift of this church,
for our sanctuary, house and property.
Help us to be faithful stewards of all that you have given to us.
While we celebrate the church that is the Body of Christ,
made up of your people,
we also recognize that this house of prayer is your house.
Inspire us to use our time, talents and treasures to your glory,
that this church may be a place of welcome for all.
Amen.

God, you are our home.
Guide us in this time of discernment
as we seek to be faithful to your will.
open our hearts and fill us with your Spirit,
as we explore how to use the church house
in ways that will serve you and our community.
In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.

Pray to Give Thanks
Almighty God, giver of all things,
with gladness we give thanks for all your goodness.
We bless you for the love which has created and which sustains us from day to day.
We praise you for the gift of your Son, our Savior,
through whom you have made known your will and grace.
We thank you for the Holy Spirit, the comforter;
for your holy Church;
for the means of grace;
for the lives of all faithful and good people;
and for the hope of the life to come.
Help us to treasure in our hears all that our Lord has done for us,
and enable us to show our thankfulness
by lives that are wholly given to your service.
Amen.

Pray Luther's Morning Prayer
I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son,
that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger.
Keep me this day also from sin and every evil,
that all my doings and life may please you.
Into your hands I commend my body and soul and all things.
Let your holy angel be with me,
that the wicked foe may have no power over me.
Amen.

A Breakfast Prayer
For the glory of the morning,
for the rising of the sun,
for the food on the table,
for the day that has begun
we give you thanks, O Lord.
Amen.

Pray Luther's Evening Prayer
I thank You, my heavenly Father,
through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son,
that You have graciously kept me this day;
and I pray that You would forgive me
all my sins where I have done wrong,
and graciously keep me this night.
For into Your hands I commend myself,
my body and soul, and all things.
Let Your holy angel be with me,
that the evil foe may have no power over me.
Amen.

Pray St. Francis' Prayer

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek

to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen.

Give Thanks Before Eating a Meal
Come, Lord Jesus, be our Guest,
And may these gifts to us be blessed.

Come, Lord Jesus, our guest to be
And bless these gifts
Bestowed by Thee.
And bless our loved ones everywhere,
And keep them in Your loving care.

Amen.

Lord God,
bless these your gifts,
which receive from your bountiful goodness,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Bless, O God,
this food to our use,
and our lives to your service,
and keep us ever mindful
of the needs of others.
Amen.

Adopt a Prayer Mantra
What is it?
A mantra is a simple phrase is repeated silently
as you go about your regular activities.
The mantra becomes a constant companion,
reminding you of your steadfast relationship with God
and helping you navigate all the distractions
your mind and heart may be prone to.

Examples:
"Marantha"
(a Hindu word meaning "Come Lord")

"Trust in the slow work of God."
(from the writings of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin)

"Glory be to God."

The first line of any hymn.

Pray the 23rd Psalm
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet water,
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, They comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and live will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Amen.

Prayers for Peace
O God, it is your will to hold both heaven and earth in a single peace.
Let the design of your great love shine on the waste of our anger and sorrow,
and give peace to your Church,
peace among nations and peoples,
peace in our homes
and peace in our hearts
through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

Gracious and holy God,
lead us from death to life,
from falsehood to truth.
Lead us from despair to hope,
from fear to trust.
Lead us from hate to love,
from war to peace.
Let peace fill our hearts,
our world, our universe;
through Jesus Christ,
our Savior and Lord.
Amen.

Teach a Child to Pray Before Bedtime
O Lord, I thank thee for this day.
For these hours of work and play.
For the shining sun above.
For your great and tender love.
O help me Lord, they will to do;
Help me to be kind and true.
Amen.
